Privacy Policy
SimRanger is a Shopify app that deploys autonomous AI shoppers into a merchant's storefront to simulate shopping journeys, surface friction, and verify suspected technical issues. This policy explains what we collect and how it's used when you install and run SimRanger.
What we collect
When you install SimRanger, we access the storefront and store data needed to run a scan, including your store's public storefront pages, product and collection data relevant to a shopper journey, and basic shop information provided by Shopify at install. During a scan, our AI shoppers browse your live storefront and record their observations, along with screenshots and technical evidence used to verify suspected issues.
How we use it
Scan data is used to generate shopper observations, independently check suspected technical problems, and present verified findings and friction reports inside the SimRanger app. We do not sell scan data or storefront data to third parties, and we do not use it to train models on your customers' personal information, because our AI shoppers do not interact with real customer accounts or checkout with real payment details.
What we don't do
SimRanger does not automatically apply fixes to your store, and it does not run scheduled or continuous background monitoring beyond the runs you start. We do not access customer personal data unrelated to the shopping journeys our AI shoppers themselves generate.
Data retention
Scan results, evidence, and issue history are retained for as long as your account is active so you can compare runs over time. If you uninstall SimRanger, your store's scan data is deleted from our systems within a reasonable period, consistent with Shopify's app requirements.
